A word to describe her is “Crazy person”, in a good way of course! Starts dancing all the sudden, sophisticated designing, handling of works... She is the one who brings up new ideas from many aspects.
What are you doing in Japan now?
Working as a designer, responsible for planning, designing, and operation of a newly launched service, “jimomin”. Engaged in a wide range of design related duties from DTP to Web, Graphics, and Film production.
What brought you to Japan?
I used to dream about becoming a painter and traveling around the world, but it wasn’t feasible in real life, so I decided to make a full use of my skills and become a designer. One of the major factors brought me to Japan is a Japanese romantic movie I watched before. The movie was filmed in Kyoto, and I was so moved by the scene in which the main character stands still in the snowing scenery, and I’ve been admiring the romantic scene ever since then...
Another reason is that I just wanted to get away from my life in Taiwan! I always get board of anything very quick! Nothing was wrong with my life in Taiwan, doing well at work, had many friends, I just got bored of my daily routine.
Taiwan and Japan are close, both geographically and culturally, hence, I chose Japan as the first destination.
Recent lifestyle
Nowadays, I live in a share house with 5~6 roommates. New roommates constantly move in and out the share house, and many of them are foreigners. I attended a Japanese language school before but wasn’t able to learn much as it was for a short term of only 3 months... Actually I feel I’m learning much more Japanese through just living in the share house communicating with Japanese roommates, and that’s one of the merits of living in a share house.
How to spend a day off
Currently, I’m obsessed with hot sandwiches. I also try to take more collagen, since I often stay up all night and I can feel my skin has been losing tension as a result.
On a day off, I usually do gardening, cleaning, mowing, watch YouTube, and dancing!
The most surprising difference between my culture and Japanese culture
Let me say one thing!
Since my arrival to Japan, I’ve always been feeling, rather than being surprised, that Japanese have less efficiency! In addition, there are too much procedures involved to complete even a simple task. As a characteristic of Japanese in general, they’re shy, Taiwanese are shy as well, but it’s more difficult here to remain in the right distance from people than in Taiwan. Moreover, people tend to throw in too many words while the other is speaking such as “Really?”, “Indeed?”. That makes it difficult for me to understand if they are actually surprised.
Future plan / Prospects
I just want to get a girlfriend!
Also want to travel to many countries. For my skill improvement, I’ll keep studying about engineering.
